The Rising isn't just another hand-poured, wood wicked, "vegan, phthalate + paraben + gluten-free, eco-friendly, healthy" alternative candle company.
We strive to make each piece unique - through curated crystal lines and customized fragrance oil blends. We've spent the time and research to ensure that our customers receive high quality, one-of-a-kind products. But what truly set's us apart is our desire to give back and the partners we choose in accomplishing this. Each quarter we will create a limited edition candle with a curated crystal pairing with a group of survivors in mind. A donation of 10% from the sales of this candle will be made to a foundation announced each quarter. We hope that our candles can make a difference to anyone who may feel they need the added support. Whether it be the donation itself or through the act of lighting a candle to set intentions and manifest feelings of self-love, strength, confidence - we've succeeded.
It's all in the name and this one started in a slightly dark place. But after dark there's light - so how fitting this story is about candles.
The notion to get into "candle-making," all started as a way for me to throw myself into something. To try something "new + creative" - vastly different from what I am used to in my rigid professional life. After dealing with several disappointments, followed by a difficult breakup - I was in need of some relief (and I certainly found it.) Fast-forward some time, and I wanted to start a company doing this. During a pep-talk I gave myself - that went something to the like of: "I will persevere. Why? Because I always do. Through every obstacle placed in my life - I overcome, I will rise." It was at that moment that the name for the rising was created. So in typical "go-getter" fashion - I filed my LLC, set an overzealous launch date, and moved forward full-steam ahead. Even though I'm starting off small, if The Rising Co. ends up as "my success story" + "my light after dark" moment - I'm happy to give credit where it is due as all great women do, and I'm thankful I have a candle now to light my way.
